"Five Angry Men, first prize winners of the Conad Jazz Contest 2022 at Umbria Jazz, is a quintet formed within the walls of Siena Jazz. Their repertoire spans across free jazz, hard bop, and modern jazz, consisting predominantly of original compositions written by each member. The group had the opportunity to grow and solidify following their participation in the Conad Jazz Contest, where they were declared winners by the Artistic Jury, chaired by Stefano Bragatto, Director of Radio Monte Carlo, with the following motivation: 'the jury particularly appreciated the group's interplay and the energy of their performance.'

Hailing from different regions (Tuscany, Lazio, Abruzzo, and Sicily), they are united by their desire to explore new musical languages while building upon tradition. The young ensemble has already performed at:

• Umbria Jazz Festival, Giardini Carducci
• Italian Jazz for the Earthquake Areas in L’Aquila
• Umbria Jazz Weekend, Baravai of the Roman Amphitheater
• Umbria Jazz Winter, opening the festival at Palazzo del Popolo (Sala dei Quattrocento) in Orvieto
• Camera Jazz Club in Bologna
• Blue Note in Milan
